IWC Artist Bloc’s Fall Picnic

Saturday September 28, 2013

1pm to 5pm

Parc Kent (corner Kent and Cote-des-Neiges)

Metro Cote-des-Neiges, or bus 165

As the summer winds down, the Immigrant Workers Centre’s Artist Bloc invites you to its fall picnic. Launched in 2013, the IWC Artist Bloc is a roving, renegade theater squad that brings stories of struggle to parcs, picnics, protests and public spaces. This year, it has performed at the Immigrant Worker’s Centre MayWorks cultural festival, facilitated workshops at the CLAC’s anti-capitalist summer camp, and participated in creative actions at the Status for All March and detention centre demonstration. Since then, the Artist Bloc continues to meet regularly to organize public arts interventions, co-created by workers and for workers.

With this in mind, join us for an afternoon of food, music, and creative workshops. Food and drinks will be provided, but please feel free to offer a dish to share. Bring your friends, bring your family, bring your kids and celebrate migrant workers struggles through art.
