Monsieur Komal Gandhar Chakravarty<\/strong>, candidat au doctorat, d\u00e9fendra publiquement sa th\u00e8se doctorale en vue de l\u2019obtention du grade de Ph.D. Sciences des religions. La th\u00e8se du candidat s\u2019intitule\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0African Nazarites: A comparative Religious Ethnography of Rastafari and Ibandla lamaNazaretha. \u00bb<\/p>\n

R\u00e9sum\u00e9 :<\/strong> Two rapidly growing theological and cultural movements currently sparking global interest are Rastafari and Ibandla lamaNazaretha<\/em>. From a theoretical framework grounded in the notions of religious liminality and hybdrity, this dissertation argues that both Ibandla lamaNazaretha <\/em>and Rastafari perpetuate a conflation between the \u201cNazirite\u201d from the Old Testament (Numbers 6:1-8) and the \u201cNazorean\u201d of Matthew 2:23 through the hailing of a contemporaneous saviour: i.e. Haile Selassie I for Rastafari and Isaiah Shembe for Ibandla lamaNazaretha<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Deux mouvements th\u00e9ologiques et culturels actuellement en croissance rapide suscitent un int\u00e9r\u00eat mondial\u00a0: Ibandla lamaNazaretha <\/em>et les Rastafari. D\u2019un cadre th\u00e9orique fond\u00e9 sur les notions de liminalit\u00e9 et d\u2019hybridit\u00e9 religieuse, cette th\u00e8se soutient que les deux, Ibandla lamaNazaretha <\/em>et les Rastafari, perp\u00e9tuent un amalgame entre le \u00ab Nazir\u00e9at \u00bb de l\u2019Ancien Testament (Nombres 6:1-8) et le \u00ab Nazar\u00e9en \u00bb de l\u2019\u00e9vangile de Matthieu (2:23), \u00e0 travers la d\u00e9votion \u00e0 un seigneur contemporain : Haile Selassie I dans le cas du mouvement Rastafari et Isaiah Shembe dans le cas du mouvement IbandlalamaNazaretha<\/em>.\u00a0<\/p>\n
