This annual event encourages the population to responsibly dispose of items they no longer need and that could be used by others. The current context is creating an increased demand for job search assistance programs and for affordable clothing and household goods. An increase in donations will allow Renaissance to expand its mission and help more people. The organization expects to host 100,000 donors, a 10% increase over last fall.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0More than an act of generosity, donating is also an ecological gesture, as the goods received are diverted from landfills\u00a0\u00bb says \u00c9ric St-Arnaud, Renaissance\u2019s General Manager. \u00ab\u00a0In fact, we estimate that 100,000 donations represent 1.5 million kg worth of goods! \u00bb. Mr. St-Arnaud also points out that donating is an accessible act: \u00ab\u00a0We all have clothes we no longer wear, objects we no longer use &#8230; This campaign is the occasion to put them to good use by helping us create local employment. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p><strong>Taking up the Renaissance challenge <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Renaissance challenge is a friendly competition inviting the population of 29 cities and boroughs of the Greater Montreal area to drop off their donations at one of the organization\u2019s 52 donation centres. Three honorary prizes are awarded at the end of the campaign:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The prize for the greatest number of donations collected,<\/li>\n<li>The price for the highest number of donations per 1,000 inhabitants,<\/li>\n<li>The prize for the largest increase in donations compared to the previous edition.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To locate all our donation centres, visit our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.renaissancequebec.ca\/en\/give-articles\/where-to-drop-off-your-donations\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About Renaissance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Created in 1994, Renaissance is a non-profit organization whose mission is to facilitate the social and professional integration of people experiencing difficulty entering the workforce, while enlisting a commitment to take steps to protect the environment.
