Séminaire : Pancréas artificiel pour diabétiques : application et contrôles de procédés
Séminaire en anglais
At the Institut de recherches cliniques de Montréal, we are currently developing an artificial pancreas for type 1 diabetes, where process control engineering lies at the heart of the system’s design. In this talk, the basic principles of the system will be presented along with the challenges facing its development. Our clinical trials will then be presented demonstrating the potential benefits of the system. Future work and a road map to the development of the system will finally be presented.
Ahmad Haidar received his Masters from École Polytechnique de Montréal, and his PhD from McGill University in 2013. He worked previously at the University of Cambridge developing mathematical methods to create virtual patients for computer assessment of artificial pancreas systems. Since 2010, he has been developing an artificial pancreas for type 1 diabetes at the Institut de recherches cliniques de Montréal, where he is currently a postdoctoral fellow.
