Date limite pour soumettre un projet en arts de la scène: 1 février

Le MAI (Montréal, arts interculturels) invite les professionnels en arts de la scène à soumettre leurs projets de création avant la date indiquée. Les artistes et les organismes peuvent soumettre un projet de diffusion en danse, théâtre (en français ou en anglais), musique, chanson, arts multidisciplinaires et performance. Il est possible de profiter d’un montage prolongé dans le théâtre, d’une résidence de création en salle de répétition ou d’une résidence technique et d’organiser des conférences ou toute activité relative aux arts de la scène. Le MAI offre un cachet aux artistes. Les projets peuvent être locaux, nationaux ou internationaux et, selon les ressources disponibles, le MAI pourra soutenir la diffusion aux plans technique, promotionnel ou administratif.

Ces projets doivent s’inscrire dans une démarche interculturelle.

Le MAI privilégie les créations originales, conçues pour les espaces du MAI et n’ayant jamais été présentées à Montréal. Le MAI porte une attention particulière aux propositions qui intègrent à leur démarche la présence ou la participation du public, soit en favorisant une interaction entre l’œuvre et le spectateur, en établissant un rapport ludique avec lui, en l’impliquant dans le processus de création ou encore en permettant une interaction avec les communautés locales.

Le MAI présente des artistes de diverses origines et milieux qui questionnent, confrontent et reflètent leurs bagages respectifs, et dont les œuvres peuvent être iconoclastes ou en dialogue avec la tradition. Parmi les artistes et compagnies présentés, on retrouve: Emmanuel Jouthe, Rahul Varma, Wajdi Mouawad, nah-ee-lah, Mamata Nyogi-Nakra, Patrick Graham, Alex Cattaneo, Jason “Blackbird“ Selman, Jerusalem in my Heart, Meena Murugesan, Roger Sinha, Le Trunk Collectif, Zab Maboungou, Catherine Potter, Fabrice Koffy, Nadine Sures, Dana Michel, 2Fik, Urban Ink.

Documents requis:

1. Description artistique du projet, précisant les intentions des créateurs.
Veuillez également préciser :

– Dates prévues de diffusion, nombre de représentations et de jours de montage.

– Fiche des besoins techniques (veuillez consulter la fiche technique du Théâtre à l’adresse : http://m-a-i.qc.ca/fr/loc-theatre/)  et prévisions budgétaires du projet.

– Texte ou synopsis du projet, si pertinent.

2. Description du caractère interculturel du projet.

3. Texte détaillé sur la démarche artistique de la compagnie ou de l’artiste. 
Veuillez également nous faire part de vos principales réalisations.

4. Liste des artistes, des participants et des partenaires du projet. 
Veuillez joindre le curriculum vitæ ou les notes biographiques des principaux créateurs.

5. Vidéo de travaux récents. Veuillez préciser s’il s’agit de la production proposée au MAI ou s’il s’agit d’une œuvre similaire à la production proposée.

6. Copies du dossier de presse, de programmes ou de tout autre document pertinent.

7. Coordonnées du responsable du projet.

8. Enveloppe de retour suffisamment pré-affranchie pour le retour du matériel visuel.

Call for proposals in performing arts

The deadline for submitting a project for the next season is February 1^st

The MAI (Montréal, arts interculturels) invites multidisciplinary and performing arts professionals to submit their creation projects before the deadline. Artists and organizations may submit projects in dance, theatre (French or English), music, multidisciplinary arts, and performance art. Artists that are selected may benefit from extended set-up periods in the theatre, creation and technical residencies. The MAI also offers audience development activities. The MAI accepts projects from local, national or international artists. There are two ways to present a show: rental or collaboration. With a collaboration, we offer technical, promotional and administrative support as well as a guaranteed fee for the producer.

Projects must be intercultural.

Preference is given to original creations that are designed for MAI’s space and have not been presented inMontrealbefore. MAI is specifically interested in submissions in which the participation of the audience is included as a key component, either through direct interaction during the performance, through involving audience members in the creation process or engaging with local communities.

Please also include:

• Intended dates for presenting the show, number of performances
• Preliminary setup schedule.
• List of technical requirements (refer to Theatre technical rider), including a preliminary budget.
• Synopsis or texts, when applicable.

2. Description of the project’s intercultural approach.

3. Artist or company’s vision statement, detailing the creative process and listing past projects.

4. List of artists, participants and partners involved.
Curriculum vitae or bio of the main artists.

5. Videos of recent works, clearly identified. Please specify if the videos are project related or from previous or recent works.

6. Copies of the press kit, program or other related documents.

7. Contact information of the person in charge of the project.

8. Self-addressed return envelope.
